Hey all. I have the chance to buy a recumbent, there are two in my area. one is the Haluzak Horizon($200) and the ActionBent tidalwave ($300)

both are in good condition. Just wanted to get opinions on one or the other. I know both are no longer made. Please give me comfort info, turning radius, etc.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Drink tonight, for tomorrow we ride!

Hello flyweed,

Not familiar with the Actionbent bike, but the Haluzak for $200 is a terrific bargain. The chainstays have some flex built into them, so the bike has passive suspension on the rear. Which is nice. I have heard of the seat frames cracking, so carefully eyeball this before purchase. Buy the Haluzak and ride it. If you do not like it, you can likely sell it for more $ than you paid. You will probably like it.

What was the original price of the Haluzak twenty years back? $1500?

Safe riding,
Joel Dickman

These three prevent most accidents: seeing, being seen, & (usually) common sense.
